New Projects
Towards a smart and efficient telecom infrastructure meeting current and future industry needs

TIMING will develop solutions to support TSN in the Ethernet and Wi-Fi segments ensuring sub-millisecond latency. A Proof-of-Concept will be used to demonstrate the capability to transport TSN traffic between two TSN domains: one with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) emulating a factory, and the other with the AGVs' controller, which requires bounded latency communications with the AGVs.
Empowering Clean-energy Transition of Energy Intensive Industry Through Advanced and Innovative Digital Tools (Genius)
In GENIUS, we show the importance of 5G technologies for vertical industries and participate in the development of a complete digital twin (DT) for maximising the synergies of local renewable power generation and electric vehicle fleets.
Experimental Assesment of Fast Quantum Key Distribution

Our proposal to setup the EU-US Experimental Quantum Communication Laboratory (EQC Lab) has been accepted in the NGIatlantic.eu 3rd Open Call.

Invited tutorial for OFC 2021
I have been invited to give a tutorial during OFC 2021 entitled "How intent-based networking can be embedded within transport optical networks".
This 1-hour tutorial will cover intent-based networking, automated networks and control-loops, and it will show how optical transport networks can be automated and be prepared for beyond 5G smart network services and applications.

The conference will run from 6 - 10 June 2021 at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, California, USA.

Spotlight on Optics
Our paper "Machine Learning for Network Automation: Overview, Architecture, and Applications [Invited Tutorial]" has been selected as Spotlight on Optics by OSA, and the article made openly accesible to the community.
