Short Bio

Xavi Verdú (PhD at UPC 2008; MSc & BSc at ULPG 2001) is an entrepreneur and an Associate Professor at the Computer Architecture Department, at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) - BarcelonaTECH. He is a lecturer of the Operating Systems course at the Barcelona School of Informatics (FIB). During his research experience, he has co-authored more than 30 publications, many of them in highly ranked journals and conferences, and he has participated in several research projects. In 2012, Xavi co-founded Ludium Lab S.L., a spin-off focused on application virtualization and interactive streaming for cloud adoption at a reduced cost. In 2016 several Senior PhDs, Xavi among them, created the Virtualization and Operating Systems (VIRTUOS) Research Group.

Xavi's current research interests include virtualization technologies, Operating Systems, performance analysis, optimization of massively multithreaded processors and applications, and network processing.
