I am a PhD student at the Dept. of Computer Architecture of Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). I expect to graduate by late 2011 or early 2012.
My research interests are focused on efficient network traffic analysis algorithms and the design and architecture of general-purpose passive network monitoring systems. I am part of the Load Shedding in Network Monitoring Applications group inside the Advanced Broadband Communications Center, a research center of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC).
I am currently involved in the development of CoMo, a project lead from Intel Research Berkeley. The goal is to produce an open-source, general-purpose passive network monitoring system. In our group, we have been working on a crucial aspect of any network monitoring system: resource management and, in particular, how to deal with overload and prevent packet loss.
I used to teach Metodologia i Programació Orientada a Objectes (an OOP course) at Telecom BCN (the telecommunications engineering school of UPC) and Us de Sistemes Operatius (a course on the services and utilities provided by operating systems) at Barcelona School of Informatics (FIB) of UPC.
