EULER project - The main objective of the EULER exploratory research project
is to investigate new routing paradigms so as to design, develop, and validate experimentally
a distributed and dynamic routing scheme suitable for the future Internet and its evolution.

I
received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in telecommunications
engineering from Univeristat Politècnica de
Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona,
Spain, in 2000 and 2005, respectively. I also received the Dr.Ing.
degree in electrical engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2001.
I am
an associate professor in the Department of Computer
Architecture, UPC. My teaching
includes Master degree courses on computer communication networks
for Computer Science and programming languages for Telecommunication
Engineering.
I am a
member of the Advanced Broadband Communications
Centre (CCABA) and of
the Broadband Communications
Research (CBA) group, UPC.
I was a visitor Ph.D. student starting from January 2002 to February
2002 at the Dipartimento di Elettrnonica, Informatica e
Sistemistica of the University
of Bologna, where I worked with Prof. Franco Callegati and Dr.
Walter Cerroni. Between September and November 2002, I was a
visitant PhD Student at the British Telecom R+D supported by
Generalitat de Catalunya grant, developing a QoS mechanism for
Advanced Metropolitan Optical Networks and computer tools for
simulation and performance evaluation. I have been involved in
several European Projects such as ACTS-SONATA, IST-LION, IST-DAVID,
FP6-IP NOBEL and FP6-NoE project e-Photon/ONe. Currently, I am
involved in the FP7 Strep Project DICONET, in the FP7 Network of
Excellence BONE, and the COST 291 action.
My
research interests are in the fields of all-optical networks with
emphasis on packet-based switching technologies, MAC protocols,
Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning, and traffic
engineering.
